    Fire alarm at 4am

This is unbelievable: the fire alarm in McColluch went off again tonight, but at 4am!!
Has to say the U.S. fire fighter system is super efficient. They came in less than 5 min
But again, no fire has been found
People standing in the chilly courtyard, chatting with sleeping brains
If you can choose to list something must have in HBS, this can be one, hehe

    Skit of the LCA class

As a promotion of the HBS Show this year, each section is preparing a skit with one of their professors. In our section, LCA was chosen and see how we feel "proud" of being unprepared ;-) The official promotion clip can be seen @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E49_tpltRtw

    ALDRICH 11: THURSDAY MORNING, APRIL 12, 2007, 8:42AM

PROFESSOR REILING: I want to start by jogging our recollection of what we've covered so far.  What fiduciary responsibilities do the characters in the ENI case have ?  [Ignore everyone's raised hand.]  Ryan, why don't you kick us off today?

RYAN: [Jarred awake.  Long, uncomfortable pause.]  You know, these cases are all beginning to look alike…I mean, didn't we already do a case on both the duty of loyalty and the duty of care? I spoke during both of them, you know?

PROFESSOR REILING : Ryan, did you come to class unprepared ?

RYAN: [Pause.]  Ummm…I'm not exactly sure what you want from me?

PROFESSOR REILING : I want answers.

    RYAN: Answers?

PROFESSOR REILING : I want the truth!

    RYAN: The truth? [Accusatory]

PROFESSOR REILING : I think I deserve the truth!

RYAN: [Pause.]  Okay, HANK.  Look [pause] we live in a world of forced curves and these curves have to be balanced by threes.  Who's going to take those threes?  You, Ja-komo?  You, Jared Simon?!

I have a far greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom.  You stand there in your pulpit and you read the tea leaves with the future Baker Scholars while you curse the unprepared.  You have that luxury.  You have the luxury of not knowing what I know — that we HBS slackers, while obnoxious and distracting to you, protect other students from the forced curve; so yeah I may occasionally walk into class late, and yeah I may occasionally fall asleep in my chair here, and yes, heaven forbid, I may bumble one your cold calls from time to time; but those actions – while disruptive to your "learning environment" – protect other's in this section from the forced curve.

You don't really want the truth, Professor, because deep down in places you don't like to talk about at your faculty mixers, you WANT me unprepared; you NEED me unprepared.  I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a faculty that assigns three cases – THREE! – for a Thursday night and then expects me to have all three prepared by Friday morning – I'll be out drinking tonight, thank you very much.  I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a faculty that lives and breathes and operates under the very blanket of grading flexibility that I provide.  I would just as soon rather you said "Thank you, Ryan, thank you very much for taking one for the team" and proceed on with the case.  Otherwise, if you're looking for the right answer, I suggest you call on Alex Yang.  Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!

PROFESSOR REILING : Did you come to my class unprepared ?!

RYAN: I did what I had to do!

PROFESSOR REILING: Did you come to my class unprepared ?!

RYAN: You're god damn right I did!!!

Peru – Not just Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu, my childhood dreamland, was the impulse of going to Peru. However, Peru is more than Machu Picchu after one actually visits there. Cusco, Nazca lines, Amazon jungle, Puno lake are all among the musts to see. Peru has the mysterious past, genuine Incan people, colonial architecture, breathtaking nature, and more. Though much poorer than China, Peru offers a much greener environment; not sure whether becoz of its less industrialized economy or becoz of the government’s efforts to preserve nature. However, what strikes me is Inca civilization was only 500 years ago, almost the same period of China’s Song Dynasty and post-Renaissance era in Europe. Putting Inca Empire into its historic context, the so-called Inca civilization and mysterious remains are really nothing special. My whole trip itinerary:
Day 1: New York – Bogota – Lima. The snow storm in March made a lot of trouble to fellow students traveling those days. Luckily my flight didn’t cancel; unfortunately, I got to Lima at 2am the next day, with the flight supposed to land at 4pm in the afternoon
Day 2: Lima – Cusco. In Lima, a short morning walking in Miraflores district of the capital city, the nice love park at seaside, newly developed middle-class residential area, plus 70’s Beetle still in use everywhere. Cusco, Inca band with Guinea pig (cuy) and Pisco Sour (a local cocktail)
Day 3: Archeological sites in Cusco. Whole day hiking, delicious seafood at unbelievably low price, touring at the local market, more than 70 types of potatos
Day 4: Sacred Valley, including Pisac (Inca tombs on mountains) and Ollantaytambo (gateway to Machu Picchu, connecting the highland and jungle)
Day 5: Machu Picchu. Finally and luckily
Day 6: Puerto Maldonado. The capital city of the Amazon area. 1.5-hr boat ride on Rio Madre de Rios. Muddy monkey island, rare spider monkeys showed up for bananas. Not successful night cruise for animals
Day 7: Hiking in the jungle for 6 hours, starting at 5:00am in the morning, the toughest day in the whole trip, though very rewarding as well. Visiting a local family living in jungles
Day 8: Puerto Maldonado – Cusco – Lima – Bogota – NYC. Another long day back to the US.

New homepage site

    从前申请的isme.net域名也出了问题

Finally found a new web hosting plus DNS
The content is still in transition
Welcome to my homepage at new link:
